When we met with Ashton and Roddy, they asked us, do you think this can be done ... get married and have our reception in a Boatyard?  It was a special place to them - Roddy's family has owned and operated the boatyard for some time and Roddy is now a part of the tradition.  Ashton, who works in DC, had become an Annapolitan at heart via her time spent with Roddy and fell in love with the city, the water, and the boats as well!  In meeting with these two it became apparent - we have to make this work - it's just so them!

The boatyard was transformed into a picturesque, garden party overlooking Back Creek.  Guests were greeted with a signature cocktail and glass of champagne in preparation of the big day.

Ashton and Robby worked with our Senior Consultant Leslie Jefferson.  Ashton and Roddy had a vision to transform the boatyard into a  wedding  experience that would be fun, and memorable with understated elegance.  Since the reception will be outdoors, the couple wanted to incorporate a natural, earthy look.  We worked with Bobby Nock from Reiter INteriors and Great Expectations Florists to create the outdoor vision of a natural, organic, vintage look. Bryan Loane with Loane Brothers Tents was a critical component in the transformation of the outdoor space into a picturesque wedding venue.

The couple were married under a beautiful flower archway surrounded by their family and friends.  Guests enjoyed cocktail hour along the transformed driveway of the boatyard. Ken’s Creative Kitchen provided delicious appetizers as guests enjoyed the sounds of a guitarist.

The event continued with dinner stations under the tent amongst guests tables and clusters of vintage seating. Guests danced the night away to the sounds of Sam Hill Entertainment.  A sparkler departure completed the evening and the couple departed via boat!

Ashton and Roddy, thank you for allowing Wedding Savvy to be a part of the wedding transformation of the boatyard!  It was a beautiful wedding that will be one of my favorite event spaces!  Congratulations on an amazing wedding!!
